I've restructured my web site. If you want to get around, you
can use the links to the left. Here's some basic info about
the various sections.
- WebLog: I've recently started blogging. Eventually, I'll
tie the entire blog setup into the overall web site. But
for now, it's somewhat separate. Use the links on the
left side under WebLog.
- Writing: I do a lot of writing, although haven't produced
much lately. You can click here to see some of my stories
and snippets from my novels. I've also included a more
direct link to an opinion paper I wrote several years
ago about why I don't feel the Federal government should
offer tax cuts at this time.
- Aviation: I'm building a Van's RV-6A. This is an amazing
airplane. You can visit my project site for description
and pictures or pop over to the kit manufacturer's
site.
- Projects: When I'm working on something big, you can see
more information here.
Travel Info
I thought some of you would like to hear about this. A couple
of years ago, I took a trip to Alaska. It's an incredible place.
Before we left, a friend told me a little bit about what to expect,
including the wildlife.
You see, you need to worry about bear and moose -- they are big.
So you are suppose to make noise when you walk about, so that
they know where you are and will avoid you. In fact, all the
shops in Alaska sell "bear bells" you can attach to your backpack.
They are golf-ball-sized jingle bells.
You also watch for signs of bear and moose, and need to be able
to tell the difference between bear signs and moose signs. "You
can tell by the droppings." As a city person, I wanted to know
how. "Well, you can tell bear droppings when you see them 'cause
they will be the ones with bear bells in them."
