Some time ago, I posted regarding the problems I had getting my new blog look from the woman I had hired. As explained in this long post, I eventually received the necessary files.

So, the new look is now active! How do you like it? I'm pretty pleased, although I'm not quite done with it. I think "Sally" did a very nice job.

This wasn't a trivial upgrade for me. First, I upgraded to the latest MovableType. That part was easy.

Then I looked at the files she sent me. Oh boy... She sent me one Photoshop project file for the header, a JPEG for the background, and a single long text file of all the templates I'd need to use, crammed together without any indicator of either where the file breaks are nor what files they were. Ouch.

As you can see, I've gotten most stuff working. If you see something not working, please let me know.

I have one (known) remaining problem... She's stretching my photoshop skills to the breaking point with the PSD file she sent me. It's a very nice header, I think, except I'm pretty sure I'm violating someone's copyright -- that's NOT my dog. I have photos of Yoda I want to plunk in there, but I haven't figured out how. I've got email out to Scott for that. I can't even figure out how to change the "Northern" part of the text, as she did something tricky that doesn't work for me.

I also have to make the new style sheet work with the non-blog sections of the site. That'll happen eventually. Just not today.
