This is down in my basement of the old old house in Golden Valley. It's a little dark, but you can see three of the four empennage pieces if you look carefully.
Hanging on the wall to the upper right is part of the horizontal stabalizer. Below it are the vertical stabalizer with the rudder attached at the back. To the left is the right elevator sitting on its outboard end.
For size reference, the items at the top left are at about eye level.
On the right elevator, at the bottom, you can see a piece of green sticking forard (rightward). This is the counterbalance arm. You want the elevator to be balanced weight-wise. That is, you don't want gravity to always make it droop. So you have that extension forward of the pivit point. The tip will be filled with lead so that everything just balances level.
Note that I haven't done any of the fiberglass work yet. The tips of the various pieces will be finished with a nice fiberglass fairing. I'm saving that work to do it all at once.
